Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is a program that equips lay persons, through 50 hours of training, to provide Christian one-to-one care to those experiencing a wide range of situations, such as:
Those grieving a death or serious loss
The terminally ill and their families
Those with a job crisis
Those individuals whose family relationships are going through, or have gone through, a separation or divorce
Those in spiritual crisis
The home-centered individuals in our society
A Stephen Minister can provide:
A one-on-one relationship between the caregiver (Stephen Minister) and care receiver.
A confidential, listening ear. Nothing said within the context of a Stephen Ministry relationship is ever repeated
A caring relationship that focuses on the unique need of each individual care receiver and lasts as long as the need exists
A relationship that is under the guidance and support of the superstructure or Stephen Leaders
A resource for community referrals as needed
Are you interested in receiving the care of a Stephen Minister? If so, call Debbie Keith in the church office (722-7445) or email her: PastoralAsst.NCCC@coxinet.net. (The inquiry and call will be and remain confidential.)
