HALLELUJAH! WHAT’S RIGHT WITH THE WORLD!
Jan. 18th-20th, 2008

Did you know that ministry is being done in your name, in New Covenant’s name, all the time?  In our name, comforters have been donated to a center for abused children, Boy Scouts have been sponsored, and work has been accomplished with Habitat for Humanity and the OKC Food Bank, just to name a few.  Good is all around us!

But, whether you get your news from the television or the radio, the newspaper or the internet, the latest in bad news seems to be what is celebrated.  Negative news is everywhere and will likely increase in the months before the Presidential election.  Enough!  Not being “Pollyannas,” we recognize that life has tragedies and despair.  But, by the Grace of God, it also has compassion, joys, hope and causes for celebration!  Blessings abound that need to be celebrated!

To that end, NCCC is celebrating what’s right with our world with a three-day event.  Hallelujah! What's Right with the World! will take place from Friday, Jan. 18th through Sunday, Jan. 20th.  And, we’ll be inviting our neighbors to join us on Friday night for a community meal, and continue throughout the weekend with fellowship and servant opportunities.

This is an all-church endeavor, so please participate in the planning and celebrating.  We need all our voices.  Ideas so far range from artistic interpretations to good sportsmanship, from Bible studies to outreach opportunities—whatever speaks to you.  We will  directly approach some groups, but are also prayerfully relying on the Holy Spirit to speak to individuals.  Please take this idea to your personal and community ministries and discuss how you can contribute to this celebration.

As Christians, we are called to be beacons of hope to our world.  What’s right with the world starts with God’s love channeled uniquely through each of us.  Let’s proclaim our blessings.  But, it will take all of us working together to bring this hope to our community.  Please prayerfully consider your role in this celebration and volunteer.  If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Keith in the church office (722-7445 or PastoralAsst.NCCC@coxinet.net). Thanks!
