The Comforters
Not long ago, a group of women wanted to see what they could do if they worked together to produce quilts and fleece comforters to be given out in times of disaster or illness. A few short years later, they have supplied the CARE center (Child Abuse Response and Evaluation) with over 40 comforters and provided approximately 80 comforters where needed to hospital patients and home-centered individuals and nursing home residents, as well as sending them to Florida after a hurricane and gifting them to local residents after natural disasters. (Two of the women also provided beautiful, detailed quilts for the beds at the White Fields Boys Ranch.) It is truly amazing what can be done when we come together with servant hearts.
This group meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 9:00-noon in the Praise Place. If you would like to hear more about this ministry, please contact Debbie Keith in the church office (722-7445, ext. 305 or PastoralAsst.NCCC@coxinet.net) and she will direct you to the right person! Can’t sew? Not a problem! The fleece comforters require cutting and knotting and go together very quickly.
